Here they are folks -- the BEFORE pics!!

Ok, so I'm FINALLY posting some pics of the new house. I'm titling them the "before" pics, although I can't promise a timely display of the "afters" as I have just located my razor after only a mere three weeks, so god knows how long it will take me to actually GET A ROOM DONE. (Ok, so I located the razor about two weeks ago, but even that was long enough to go without shaving my legs in the summertime. My husband was pretty grossed out by it and made several jokes, none of which I remember right now. I think they were pretty funny -- but news flash, I tune out a lot of his jokes, especially when they are aimed at me.)

Anyway, back to news on the new house. Many things have been unpacked and many things are still left to be unpacked. And of course I have all sorts of ideas for decorating which include painting, some sort of wainscoting in the dining room, light fixtures, rugs, and then my obsession with pillows and throws. And baskets. I am going to have a basket of throws. And I will tie a teeny tiny chalkboard to it with twine and appropriately label it "throws." Just in case anyone was confused.

I know you're all (and by ALL, I mean the six people actually reading this) are like, enough of your crazy rambling, now on with the pics! So, here they are. The pic up top is the front of the house as you pull into the SEMI-CIRCULAR drive. Something I have always wanted because it just seemed fancy. Well, it is.

Here is my dog Maggie. She is the world's happiest dog. And why wouldn't she be? She was saved from a shelter and gets to live here and be taken care of by me and her dog walker. I want her life.

This is the front gate. I like the arch.

Come on in! Front hall, full of junk. This pic was taken about 2 weeks ago but I'm not gonna lie, it still pretty much looks like this.

Downstairs powder room. I have big plans for this little room which may include some type of painted stripes on the walls, a corner shelf, and some cool wall art. Stay tuned on that one...

This is the living room. The only thing that will stay after I decorate it the way I want is the couch. And maybe the chair. We'll see how it goes.

Living room fireplace featuring my collection of lamps sans shades. Everyone is in agreement that they like the marble surround. Not me. I hate the color. To my husband's dismay it will be changed. As will the gold gate around it and the two-toned color.

Dining room. I finally unpacked most of the boxes in there. I also put the crystals on the new chandelier and added light bulbs. My vision for this includes some possible built-ins and a dark but very cool color on the walls. Although I will probably change my mind 10 times before I actually do it!!

Here is the den. One of my favorite antique tables lost a leg in the move. Then I lost the stupid leg and didn't find it for weeks. I was losing my mind and we were on an all out hunt and then BAM! I found it stuffed in one of my many baskets. This is a bad pic and I promise a better look at it in the "afters." This room will actually be done soon. Maybe.

Well, that's all for tonight. My DVR is calling my name and I've already spent awhile on this. But I promise, pics of the kitchen and then the basement to come soon!!!

Hi. I'm back. So, we moved. Well, 6 burly men moved stuff while I watched. But they were real nice and I bought them lunch. They helped me to keep at least one tiny speck of my sanity in check. I say one tiny speck because the night before the move I almost lost it. I mean, almost totally lost it. Ask my husband. He'll tell ya. Good thing he was calm, because man, it takes me awhile to lose my cool but when I do I have a hard time finding it again. Moving is hard. And stressful. It's in the top 5 biggies of stressful events. No joke.

But enough about me. The house is AWESOME. I mean, the bomb-diggity. Like people used to say in the 90s but don't anymore. Except me. I still say it every once in awhile. Like today. I mean, the house is SO cool, I don't even mind tripping over the boxes and searching to find basic stuff, like the keys to my husband's motorcycle so I can finally get rid of the dang thing. FINALLY. I hated that thing. Sold it to one of the moving men. Just one more reason I love them. I think his wife probably wants to kill me now, and I felt a tiny twinge of guilt. But just a twinge. Because if she were me, she would threaten to lie down in the driveway so he had to run her over if he wanted to ride it. Seriously. That's what I said.

So, the hunt for things and the unpacking of boxes continues. But I am sooooo in love with this place. And all the wonderous decorating I'm going to do here. Pics of the messiness to come when I can finally locate my camera....
See y'all soon ~

So...here goes.

So this is my first blog. Lately I've been obsessed with reading blogs about crafts, DIY projects, design, interior design, furniture painting, furniture restoration, antiques, rugs, pillows, pillows made out of rugs...you get the gist. So much so that today when I went to the doctor for a physical, I thought, hey those cabinets would do with a coat of paint. And a little distressing. Uh huh.
And then I thought, what better time to start a blog and take on something new, than the week before moving to a new house? What better activity to add to a little packing (or rather A LOT of packing) than writing my very own blog? So here I am. One more activity added to my plate...which by the way...would look really good hung on my new dining room wall, in a neat design...

More later :)
